Michael Chen is the founder and CEO of Luxford Group, a high-end real estate development group focused on the investment and development of custom ultra luxury residences in Beverly Hills and Bel Air region. Luxford Group is a design and development firm specializing in the ultra-luxury home market in the Los Angeles area. With a dedicated group of skilled professionals, creating a network with unique abilities to help clients find the perfect location, structure financing, construction management and investment asset management. With an “out of the box” thinking style and keen eye for design and architecture, Luxford Group effectively lead projects with the intent to build the most iconic and luxury homes out there.
In addition to leading the team at Luxford Group, Mr. Chen has also been involved in filmmaking, Hollywood set designing, product and interior designer and inventor. Mr. Chen considers himself a creative artist at heart. Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Mr. Chen moved to the United States with his family at the age of ten years old. While his studies at UCLA”s school of business helped Mr. Chen develop a sharp business acumen, he found his passion at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena where he learned from the world renowned leaders in design, art and architecture. Mr. Chen’s passion propelled him to Europe where he worked as a product designer in Milan and furthered his studies of the classical architecture of Western Europe, which helped cement his unique creative range, style and vision. For Mr. Chen, it is modernism that has captured his creative heart and set his artistic vision.
A believer in the Louis Sullivan philosophy that “form follows function”, his unique vision allows him to subtly yet masterfully blend architectural elements from the traditional east and classical west into a modernist form that is as functional as it is beautiful. In 2021, Mr. Chen was elected as the Executive Director of the Asia-Pacific Division with Aaron Kirman Group (now combined with Christie’s International). A multi-billion dollar producing real estate team, with $14 billion total properties sold, Aaron Kirman Group (AKGRE) has cemented itself as the premiere real estate consultancy firm in Los Angeles, with Mr. Chen overseeing and facilitating transactions in the Southeast Asian real estate market.
